I want to install MS7 on new h/d.I was thinking of --- Toshiba 2TB Internal Serial ATA III Hard Drive for Desktops --.I will be getting hew desktop in 6-9 months and will use this h/d.The sepc say--2x sata 3gb/s connectors (gsata2_0,gsata2_1) supporting up to 2 sata 3gb/s devices.Would this new h/d be able to work with my mother board .I have two 1 gig h/d already,I believe one of them is starting to fail, running xp pro and will still use until a major problem develops.I have 6 sata plugs with 3 being used-2 h/d and one dvd.

That drive will work on the hardware but I would connect it to the Intel controller (SATA2_0, SATA2_1, SATA2_2, or SATA2_3) if you intend to boot from it rather than the GSata (Jmicron controller) ports

Depends from what license are you going to use.

OEM licenses are linked to the same motherboard they were first installed in.

Retail licenses aren't (but cost more), just deactivate the key following this tutorial, move the drive, activate again with same key.

As for the moving the drive with 7 already on it, 99% of the times it will not make a major fuss. Uninstall all drivers of devices you are leaving behind first. Especially graphics.

In case you fail the first time, follow this tutorial.

Was discarded by previous owner due to "horrible performance".
Was running Win Xp from a IDE drive. Yeah. Was a pain.
