I am now dual booting these two operating systems, Windows 7 is by far the more attractive, intuitive and user controllable experience, I admit that if you want the basics and want to be told what you can and can't do then the Mac OS X has some advantages.
Windows 7 just comes across as far more grown up, much more advanced to be honest.
I have trialled Windows 8 and havent liked it at all.
