Macos X for windows 7 .

Mac OS X style system behaviour with not using any 3rd party program.

Macos X is a Mac OS X port for WIndows 7, made by idas = ZEUS osX. (Pavlos Pitselas).

Macos (1)word meaning : 'mecos'= length in ancient Athenian also Ionian language and in Byzantine and in nowdays Greek, and 'macos' in doric and aeolian ancient greek dialects and in nowdays tsaconian= spartan dialect that still speaken in some villages in southeastern Pelloponese[south Greece], where is my hometown, and also in Ancient Greek Macedonian and Aeolian Thessalian dialects.

Macos X IS not just a theme. With new code added to Windows system files , Windows becomes behaving like Mac OS X .

When foristance we select a folder as 'icon', we have separate mouse over image for the folder and other image for the text.

When we select a folder as 'details' we can have stripes, and mouse over images like mac os X , blue hover and white text .

Main categories of visual styles: Transparent, Brushed, Gray.

Subcategories: I have also added some styles, to any of the first categories, with always opened folderband and addressbar, and no button to the top right edge of the window.

Also to this screenshot i use The Ave's application [still beta] , CloseButtonChanger which makes the buttons more close.

My work is based on the spirit of os X, and not a copy of it.

Many images are designed in a similar but not same way with original os X.

I use font bold style in many places that original os X use regular font style.

I made this project to work only to 96 dpi font size.

For this project i have spent thousands of hours, and perchaps it is first time in the history of Windows, that without any 3rd party programm or explorer replacement, we have a so much close to mac os X style approaching.

The theme will have some limitations in use, as i have not enough time to complete in the way i want, as i am too tired.

MAIN LIMITATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF USING

1. do not change border padings.

2. do not change font size (leave it 96 dpi font size).

3. taskbar must be resized every time we log in, if we want 'small icons' in it, as Windows 7 internal code streched it to bigger dimentions.

4. for close distance between close,min,max buttons Ave's application [still beta] , CloseButtonChanger needed.

5. for adding shadows effect around your Windows, needed the freeware controlable application YzShadow.

system files, like explorerframe.dll, shel32.dll etc must replaced with mines. Additional code is added to them and the behaviour has changed as it has described ''...When foristance we select a folder as 'icon', we have separate mouse over image for the folder and other image for the text. have a little patient , what makes it difficult is the large size in mb because of the system files.(explorerframe.dll, explorer but mainly because of imageres.dll and shell32.dll which have also the icons)

This is about one year continious work to code, adding additional code lines that does not exist to original microsoft code, plus changing native code parameters, started with windows 7 beta, then RC1 and now RTM, and i use most of the images from my mac styles for vista which i started in November 2006 up to December 2008 (see my Gallery), import them and finish for windows 7 mstyle in May 2009 and added few images, as you see in my Deviant art screenshots, also this month(new style in combonox etc)

i also added more clear instructions for the 64bit system:

for the 64 bit version SYstem files replacement :

You must copy ExplorerFrame.dll, imageres.dll, shell32.dll from the 64 bit pack to C:\Windows\System32 and and explorer to C:\Windows .

and NOW please Download my 32 BIT version from http://zeusosx.deviantart.com/art/Macos-X-...32bit-154709485 , open the foler 32 bit Dll files, copy and replace the files that existed to c:\windows\syswow64 of your 64bit system.

Wow. Stunning theme. But why can't you change the border padding? I made mine smaller and nothing bad happened.
Also, when I first was switching between the different themes the window borders were all glass and I had to turn off desktop composition to make it look right. Not anymore though. I don't know why.
And something's up with the "imageres.dll" 64 and 32 bit files. I can't run Inkscape .47 with them on my system with this error.

But I remove them and I can run it. I'm sad because those files hold the wonderful song when you startup your computer
Besides that and the autohiding menu bar in explorer it's absolutely beautiful

about border padding : it 'destroyes' a little the osx symetry, in corners must be used different imges as they dont look as should and also do a very little streched [1 horizontal line if i remeber well] thats the reason i ask people not changing, not of afraid of any instability because of this.

about Inkscape .47 , it runs fine to my windows 7 32 bit, modified in mac os x style , operating system. have a look.

perchaps needed to Uninstall it while you use the microsoft dll and reinstall it after you have added mines.

also for helping u i needed more informations, for example ,writte please if u use 32 or 64 system. have u replaced ALL system files? to 64 needed to be replaced to THE SYSTEM FILES OF YOUR SYSWOW64 FOLDER MUST BE REPLACED FROM THE 32 BIT FILES THAT I HAVE INCLUDED TO MY Macos X for Windows 7 - 32bit FROM FOLDER '32 bit Dll files'.

do not delete the original dll, just rename it [after taken ownership] to shell32.old or shell32.bak etc now copy / paste my shell32.dll .
also do this first :

before replacing files go to Control pane [view by category] -->so Go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window Never Notify. restart. do all your changes in code that u want. then again go to Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts and press the folder 'Change User Account Control Settings' set the slider to the next window to Default or to whatever u like, then restart.

ZEUS & POSEIDON is a work based in my Macos X for Windows 7 Themes.

So here i have UPDATED the same visual styles /themes having :

So i made : Dion XW (transparent version), Alexandros XW (brushed version) and Leopard XW (gray version).

custom themes having Taskbar's height smaller than 24 pixels [i use to my theme a 22 pixel height taskbar, and setted to the top of desktop, similar to os x], when we log in doubles size.

This is a native windows 7 problem in code, for taskbars with smaller size than 24 pixels height.

For resizing i did, as i have written this : i must first deselect small icons, (deselect also Lock THE TASKBAR), so big size icons and taskbar appears.

Then i resize the big taskbar height, as small as possible. then i select small icons, and the taskbar becomes 22 pixels height.

The problem is this : every time i restart the taskbar becomes bigger size than 22 pixels so i have again to resize it.


So:

NEW METHOD FOR TASKBAR:
what you have to do is only 1 clik before shut down, or restart or log off your computer

How it works :

BEFORE shut down, or restart or log off , ---> SET aero theme.

[i will EXPLAIN after where you can set the aero style theme for ease access of it. instead of my solution you can set it everywhere you preffer or you right clik to desk top , personalize select aero.

to my method i setted to a toolbar of your taskbar for fast access by you]

Then copy to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup your favour custom theme.

so now when log in automatically the preffered theme will be in use. it works fine.

thats it.

A ---. enabling quiq launch toolbar to the taskbar.
[u can set aero style theme in any toolbar of your taskbar, for example you can use 'links' toolbar]

1. Right clik to your windows taskbar. Deselect Lock the taskbar.

2. Again Right clik to your windows taskbar.

a.Then Right-click the taskbar -> Toolbars -> New toolbar

b. type the following into the "folder" field - "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft

\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch", where username is your user name on your user account.

c. click 'Select folder'.

d. now you can rearrange the Quick Launch into it's classic position.

3. a. right-click the Quick Launch and uncheck "Show Text". right-click again to uncheck "Show

Title".

b. size the title-less and label-less Quick Launch area to your liking.

B---. RIGHT clik to your desktop, personalize, select aero theme, then change the desktop

background selecting forexample a mac style background wallpaper one as the 'DefaultDesktop'.

save changes.


then also select 'sounds', select mac osx, apply , ok, save the changes.

then, Save Theme with a name you preffer, for example Aero X.

THEN:

GO to C:/Users/Your User Name Here/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Themes

Drag the theme you just made it, to your quiq launch toolbar, in taskbar.
If you like you can right clik to the shortcut of the theme that has appeared after the drag to your quiq launch toolbar, in taskbar ,select properties, change icon, so select an icon you

preffer.

C---. Go to C:/Users/Your User Name Here/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Themes or to

C:\Windows\Resources\Themes find your favourite 22 pixel taskbar's height mac style theme ,

copy it and paste it to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

D---. Before shut down, or restart or log off, go to your taskbar and select your aero style theme you have put there.

when log in , the mac style should be automatically will aplied it to your desktop.

thats it. [with only 1 clik before shut down, or restart or log off]

this is a solution for any custom theme with taskbar's [small icons] height size is smaller than 24 pixels, in windows 7.
(also added to 22 pixels height taskbar when restart becomes bigger ! also then can not be resized, must be first big(deselect small icons) for resizing! )

+ added 12 'New Themes by ZEUSosx' These new visual styles/themes have biger titlebar and more symetrical vertical distances in titlebar, and some other minor differences.
