Hi,

My Macrium Reflect Professional 5.0 stopped working correcty after a clean W7 reinstall.

  • Scheduled backups now have to be run manually.
  • Disk space management ("Keep a maximum of x full images") does not work, and old images have to be deleted manually.
I image everyday whith two alternating external disks. Possibly relevant changes between former and present installs :

  • Before : disks went into a rack with (I think) a USB/SATA interface. Now : disks are linked through eSATA.
  • Before : I worked under a single, administrator W7 account. Now : I work under a non-admin account, however Macrium does its work under the other, admin account (I think Macrium mandates that).
I have re-programmed the backup definition file and scheduled backups several times, to no avail. Any ideas ?

Hello Clairveaux I think you should uninstall the version you have the because the current version is V6 and I know as of late there have been a lot of patches to the program - just about everytime I start it up as I do a air bit of cloning.

Thank you, ICIT2LOL.

I'm aware my version of Macrium is not current. However, I don't wish to upgrade. I have a paid-for version, and would lose important features if I switched to the free v.6. As for the paid-for v.6, I don't really need the new features.

My v.5 worked perfectly before I reinstalled, so I don't think having the former version is the problem.

Suggest checking Scheduled Tasks and see if the Macruim Reflect scheduled backup is set like this:

Task Scheduler.jpg

Also looking around the MR forum they state that the application should be run with admin rights or else the user must enter a password when prompted by UAC when MR runs.

Maybe try launching MR from an Elevated Shortcut to create a new scheduled backup.
