Solved Macrium Reflect Question

Today I decided to put Macrium on the laptop I have recently gotten. When making the Rescue Disk, I had to download the Windows AIK file. I am not sure what it does but Macrium had the default as being on the C: drive, so that is where I put it. If my C: drive were wiped out and the WAIK file were gone, would that stop me from restoring? Should it be on some other drive? Thanks,

No as the WAIK is only used to create the recuse disk. I have never bothered with it as the Linux based rescue disk has always worked for me ()by testing/booting from the disk after creating).

After using WAIK I copied it to the external drive which holds my Macrium *.mrimg backups,
and immediately deleted it from C:\ because WAIK is 2 GB I do NOT want to burden my C:\ backup image files with.

I hope I will never need WAIK again but I have it duplicated on external drives should that evil day befall me.
At least I will not have to wait for another 2 GB download.

N.B.
Do NOT blame Macrium.
It is Microsoft that insist upon using WAIK in the system C:\ partition.
