Solved Macrium Restore Date

I restored my PC with a previous image of Macrium from an external drive. It is not critical, but is it possible to determine which image date I used. I tried the Systeminfo command, but that only gives me the original date since it is an image. Would the external drive have anything as to which image date I used? Thanks,

I use Macrium, but I don't let it create the backup name. I manually enter my own designation. I have a dual boot system, Win 7 and Win 8 on separate drives. I name my backups, for example, "Win 7 032214" and with that I can easily identify what the backup is.

Macrium recommends not changing the default backup name; certain functions you may or may not use can be affected by doing so. All you have to do to determine the date of a backup is to set the Folder View of the folder you park your images in to Details and sort the files by date in the date column. Let Windows do the work for you (I learned this little trick from whs).

I did the restore OK and my files have the date on them. I did not restore the most recent file as I had a problem and wanted to use an earlier file. I have since forgotten exactly what date I used for the restore. I wanted to verify something and wanted to determine the date used. I guess at this point there is no way to determine the file used. Once you get it sorted.. what I did on my Macruim dvds.. was.. I put the date on the dvds.. hope this helps you in future .

Jim, this is where hindsight works well. I've had the same issues before with dates. Now to help myself I make a folder inside an "Images" folder with a date of the image as folder name.

Jeannie and whs's method is good too. I've found no way to determine what image was used after restoring one.
