Magic Mouse on Windows 7

Okey dokey. How? Can't get past the bluetooth recognition part.

There's a knack to doing this.

Is the magic mouse driver installed? If not please install it from here (32bit) or here (64bit) or if you're using BootCamp like me ensure the BootCamp 3.1 update is installed.

When you click add Bluetooth device and it starts searching for Bluetooth devices keep repeatedly clicking the Magic Mouse with your left hand.

Once found continue clicking the MM repeatedly, select the MM on screen and hit enter.

Now any pages that come up about paring should disappear after a few seconds if you keep repeatedly clicking the MM.

When the final screen saying you've successfully added a Bluetooth device appears click finish.

Now you can stop repeatedly clicking the Magic Mouse.

All you have to do now is wait for Windows to assign the appropriate driver to the mouse and Bob's your Uncle.

There may be other ways of accomplishing this but this is the method that always works for me.

Thanks for the help, however it seemed a successful pairing was done, but the mouse won't work. I have Bootcamp 3.1 installed, plus I installed the driver but still no joy.

Okey dokey smokey, nevermind. I simple reboot solved the problems. I have joy on the Apple Magic Mouse!

BTW, how many freakin years have I been using Windows to know by now that a reboot solves everything???

I work as a part time IT support manager for a small company and offer technical support to their customers if they need it.

There is a small set list of things you tell them to do before you even start thinking:

Restart;

Reinstall;

Unplug, replug;

Check drivers.

Most of the time number one solves the problem in under 5 minutes and of course that just means I don't have to work as hard for my pay .

As you are new to the forum I thought you might like to know how to mark threads as solved as well as the uses of some of the other buttons.

To the top right of this post you will see 3 icons. An orange (+), a set of scales and a red and white warning triangle.

The orange (+) or blue (-) denotes whether a user is on or offline (orange = on, blue = off).

The scales are used to give rep points; click this button if someone has helped you significantly or solved your queries (only give this to posts that you think really deserve it).

The red and white warning triangle is used to denote either an abusive post OR to mark a thread as solved (just put solved in the box that comes up and the admins or moderators will mark it solved).

I'll mark it solved for you this time.

Okay, mr IT guy. Tell me how to access Snow Leopard on a Macbook from Windows 7 home premium on a desktop... simply can't figure it out. At all.

What irritates me about some of the menus is that even if you have the radio button selected to enable file sharing, you still have to click outside the button to get more options, like enabling samba sharing. I hate that. These options should automagically appear when you click the radio button.

In Snow Leopard, the "Windows Sharing" radio button selection is gone but was there in regular Leopard...

As far as I can remember all the system preferences to do with sharing are identical in Snow Leopard and Leopard; it's only prior to Leopard that things were set out differently.

I specifically remember a Windows Sharing button in 10.5... maybe it was 10.4. I know I saw it, but it's been a while I guess.
