Not sure if this is the right place for this, but, here goes.............

I am trying to find how to mail merge email addresses from excel to Outlook.com. Is it even possible? There doesn't appear to be anything on the web at all that I can find.

Any ideas?

What you're supposed to do is write your message using MS Word then use mailmerge in Word to send to recipients whose email addresses you've collected in an Excel spreadheet. If you also add details to separate fields in the spreadsheet like Name, Surname or anything else you need you can insert those fields into your Word document to personalize each message.

Note: Give each field in the Excel spreadsheet headings and define the first row as containing headings.

Example:

List.jpg

Sorry but I only use Outlook on my work based machine and don't have it on my home based machine so I cannot post screenshots or go through the whole process step by step but there is a guide here (sort of)

Okay forget that last post. You mean Outlook dot com (webmail) and not Outlook email (client)

I don't use it. Sorry!

Hi Callender, yes, I was going for the .com version of Outlook as opposed to the full version, but, it does seem as though this is just not doable. I'm a bit surprised really as Microsoft is pushing Outlook.com as the 'main email tool' cloud based as per all its other products. Obviously they don't anticipate anybody needing to do mail merges.

So, I have decided to follow your excellent example and use the full-blown Outlook + Word + Excel to complete what is after all a very simple task. Perhaps this is something Microsoft can work on for the future.

Many, many thanks for all your time and help.
