How could i dualboot from a single hardrive?

Create a separate NTFS partition on that hardrive and install 7 to the new partition. If all goes well then you will have your dual boot

Does that have to be done during boot? Like not starting the installation through Vista, buit to install from the DVD during startup?

Or could i just run the setup now and do a Clean Install instead of upgrade?

If you do decide to create a bootable DVD, then yes it's best to do it at boot, rather than running the setup from within Windows. A clean installation would be the way to go.

Otherwise as z3r010 suggested, install to a vhd. (Virtual Hard Drive)

Me personally I would install on a partition rather than VHD, but thats just me.

Partition would be better IMO but then again I haven't had time to play with VHD's yet.
