So i switched from windows xp to 7 a few months ago. Since then i cannot play any of the games i used to play. Apparently my video card cant run them anymore. But its the same graphics card i had when i used windows xp, and i could run all those games ( warcraft 3, aoe3, diablo2 etc ) !! And i checked and the comp says that i do have the latest drivers for my card.
I just dont get how my games can stop working, when they worked perfectly fine with the same graphics card on xp?!
*sigh* i need help :(

Hi, first of all could you please fill in your System Specs in user control panel, then we will be able to assist you further.

Please can you also tell us any error messages that come up when starting or installing the games.

Currently i have Intel 865G graphics card. Its really old but it seemed to work fine in xp, so i never needed to change it.
But i also have bought Radeon HD 4350, but havent used it yet. Is this any good for win7?

Well the error msg's are something like " A critical error has occoured while initializing DirectDraw "
and " Cannot find enough video memory " .
All these have started showing up since i started using windows 7.

Stick that Radeon HD 4350 card in a give it a go, its gota be better than that Intel 865G. (Make sure you disable the onboard card so as to get some memory back (RAM). Just make sure you use the latest drivers listed above ;)

What he said :ar:

I've seen this Direct Draw thing happen before with Age of Empires 2 I think and couldn't figure out how to fix it.

didnt realise you had onboard.........thats why you should always fill in your system specs!! ;)

Vista and Win 7 handle vid memory in a differant way to XP thats one of your issues , as has been said stick in your new card , depending on your mobo you may or may not have to disable your onboard graphics (in bios) download and install your new card drivers and you'll be good to go :)
