Major ISPs agree to "six strikes" copyright enforcement plan

what really cracks me up about all of this is, now they put a "digital copy" in along with your dvd/blue ray disc specifically for putting the move on your computer.

it's like handing a theif the keys to your house. it just doesn't make any sense. do they want people to stop sharing their work or not?

I also don't see why ISP's are allowed to "police" anything you do on the internet. this just proves they had a ulterior motive when they lobbied congress to give them the power over net neutrality earlier this year. which btw were the same exact companies listed in this thread...I smell something else going on. this is just the begining of what they want to control and how much they are going to allow you to do in the future. unless people stand up to these companies now and sign the petitions to stop the corportate take over of net neutrality.

I think what's really going on is the entertainment industry has been told by the federal government there isn't much else they can do to stop the sharing of their work without over stepping the laws.
so what they have decided to do is instead work on overtaking a way that people share them. and eventually become "the" law on something like the internet where they can control it's content.
I don't have a problem with them trying to stop people from sharing their work, but I do have a problem with them being allowed to take over net neutrality.

it'll be the opposite of a cloud - free, floating, ever changing

it will be a little black box

We have always had some version, device, data interface medium often loosely referred to as a 'Black Box' of sorts. It's not paranoia, it is what it is.

What is the next level - who knows. Not me. I am not smart enough. What I do consider is that there is technology out there to globally scan and record data from everyone and most likely from any kind of device.

What was the term? War-Driving? Someone could drive around and sniff out available networks. Who can say there is not a way to do the same with the data on your devices while your driving? How many 'songs' or unique text message(s) that you have on your device.

I would be more interested in knowing what the big 6 does with the collected data.

Perhaps fund and design better sniffers or more AI devices?

Who knows, Freaky Friday For Sure ...
