Im fretting right now, i think i may have just made my SSD and HDD unusable.

Ok: I have a new build, was messing around with the set-up to try and get it to work the best, trying different install and with dynamic/basic hdd's.

So somehow this is the situation i have:

1Tb HDDwith the OS on, dynamic drive,
80Gb SSD partitioned, with the 100mb system restore as one and nothing on the other, also dynamic.

I want both to now be basic drives with the OS on the SSD, but i cannot do it!! Under no cicumstance, right clicking in the grey area where it would normally be highlighted, its a locked option for both drives.

I cannot format the SSD because the 100 mb is there and cant be deleted, and because of that partition it cant be made basic again.
I cannot make the HDD basic because the OS is on there,. Is there anyway of doing a completely hard reset of the hard drives, because so far i cannot find a software fix for it. Kiund of like a factory restore, nothing has to survive on any disc, just windows will not let me do anything with them.

any hel would be appreciated, im tearing my hair out here.

Unplug the 1tb, set the SSD as first HD to boot in BIOS setup, boot the Win7 DVD to wipe the SSD before install: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html Use command to convert basic while in Diskpart: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...15(WS.10).aspx

I would use the Win7 DVD Custom>Drive options to partition as desired, allowing it to issue the 100mb System Reserved boot partition which also conveniently places the Repair console (normally only on DVD or Repair CD) on the F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/31402-clean-install-upgrade-windows-7-version.html

After install, power down to plug back in the other HD to access its data. If you need to boot it, unplug SSD, set HD first to boot in BIOS, mark it Active then run Startup Repair up to 3 times with reboots to write the System MBR to it's partition: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105541-startup-repair-run-3-separate-times.html You can also wipe it to repartition as just a data or storage drive.

ok, i unplugged the 1TB with the OS on, set the BIOS to boot the SSD first, which only has the 100mb artition on and nothing else. I then booted from the DVD drive and it has gone into the windows 7 installation screens.

I cannot install windows on either of the 2 partitions it shows:

Disk 0 Partition 2 84.0MB Total Size 70Mb Free Type SYSTEM
Disk 0 Partition 3 74.4GB Total Size 74.4GB Free Type DYNAMIC

Formatted both, cannot delete either partition.

Reason for not being able to install on the large partition:
Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. The partition contains one or more dynamic volumes that are not suported for installation.
