make a vm of hiren boot dvd

hi
i have this hiren boot dvd its realy great tool for troubleshooting ..

i have it in iso format . now can i somehow make it bootable ?
i have tried easybcd to add iso image to boot but i have no luck with it . when i add it and in the menu selecting it it just boots normal windows 7.

what i am thinkng is to make a vhd and then copy all the contents of the dvd there and then use easybcd or hyperv boot it ..


i have windows 7 ultimate and windows server 2012 r2 preview installed..

Copy the ISO to an HDD and then in the Virtual Machines settings specify this ISO image as a DVD device and in the VM Virtual BIOS BIOS specify the VM to BOOT from the ISO.

However IMO the use for this type of software is when you actually want to boot it from the REAL machine rather than a VM -- you might be able to make a bootable USB stick rather than a physical CD.

I can see the use of creating a VM when you are experimenting for example of adding new applications to the Hirens boot CD and you need to test if the final CD works before burning a physical image. -- Be careful also which versions you use as some versions have Pirated proprietary software installed -- these are often labelled like Hirens boot CD Restored or similar.

This type of method will create a bootable USB from the CD -- much more useful especially when a computer doesn't have a DVD drive.
