Hey, I'm just wondering if there is a way to make the desktop icons not show trough the transparent top border of an application? I like my wallpaper to show through it, but not my icons.

Move them down a bit on the desktop?

As long as the top border of an application is transparent, whatever is behind it will be slightly visible, be it your wallpaper or desktop icons.;)

I moved them a bit down, but I like them more at the top. I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it though, as I've had them on top for as long as I can remember. Just hoped there was a way to make them invisible :<

Or don't use desktop icons. That's what I do. I hate them.

Alternatively, use Fences by stardock, if you double click your desktop, all your shortcuts/desktop icons will disappear; even the recycle bin. To get them back just double click on the desktop again. Plus there are some other good features.

Stardock flopped back into Window 8 launch and as quickly (not quick enough) flopped back into the river. Study security, appreciate that outline persistence tags a fragmenting desktop security, and respond accordingly. Adding more payload to your OS will only hasten it's demise. Get fluent with your backups and reinstall your OS regularly, treating your desktop like a pro. BTW, Microsoft thinks the outlines are a bug, too: a signal to do this, that or the other thing. Nobody ever said housekeeping is a science.
