For those who do not know, there is a Google Chrome knockoff- well, actually, it is a real browser, but it has all the Google sniffing crap removed.

It is called, appropriately enough, SRWare Iron - The Browser of the Future

Hi John,

I'm trying it now. Strangely, it crashed when I first ran it. The second time I opened it up , it was fine.

Really fast - and without all that google tracking junk.

Thanks

Did you download the ad blocker component for Iron (On their site.)? As Google are ad revenue driven, they are unlikely ever to put an ad blocker in Chrome..:)

I like Firefox (present 3.0.4) as it's a much more rich environment, however for me, the tabs at the top in Chrome are a much better idea.

I prefer Fx as well, but everywhere that I see someone trying Chrome I make it a point to mention Iron.

Currently, I have Fx 3.1 b1 installed as it is a lot faster than 3.0.x and (on my machine) a lot more stable. And, as soon as Adobe finally releases Flash player (and, hopefully, Shockwave player) for x64 browsers, I am making the move to all x64 browsers.

Ouch. Thats gonna hinder Google Chromes success. I think its a neat browser. I like the features, and the open source nature of it, but I do not like the bugs. The thing is riddled with bugs. Chrome that is, of course. (Beta)
