I was just trying to make a new fresh Repair DVD on a Win7 install I have to SSD. I wasted a nuymber of discs,
tried CD and DVD and got the error-- after a long stalled wait watching it that the Repair disk could not be made
due to an incompatibility. A screen shot is attached of the error code.

This is going on after I used a Repair Disk made earlier with no problem on this SSD boot drive.

It's just an irritating error to run into on the oldest PC I have going ( yet. )

On this it could be the DVD drive which is pretty old. I just don't understand the on for some things, off for others.
But disconnecting it today allowed me to boot normally into the SSD. I'll mark this solved at some point--
maybe test another old DVD drive on the other what IDE bus I think. The motherboard is way old.

You can borrow mine.

17514x64v30.iso

It is best extracted to usb stick using this View attachment Usb7ice.zip

In addititon, you would benefit from increasing the ram on your machine. 2gb is barely enough for win7 x64. It is quite cheap to do.

repairdisc.exe asksfor a cd/dvd drive.

To create an iso using repairdisc.exe needs a writeable virtual cd/dvd.

ok I'll look at the isos you suggest.

But I'm marking this solved since installing a different (in this case a very old IDE DVD) made the repair disk.
I just never got used to using pen drives.

Yeah, memory and all that. The board is so old taking memoty stick has become troublelsome. But I thought of spending the $11.00 or so. It's on my "watch list."

On the USB7ice does that do the job of Rufus? I see FAT32 on it. So once unzipped what is needed to get your ISO on my little pen drive? I should get a couple I suppose.

I don't know the reason but I've seen in many computers that you can only create a Rescue disk once. Then it sets a flag on the recovery partition so it blocks creating a new one. I don't remember how I did, but after removing this flag I was able to recreate the Repair disks.
Better create a USB (8 or 16G) drive instead of many DVDs.

An extra 2gb stick is only £1
https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail/?id=smem10qaa

4gb ( 2x2gb) is a minimum for 7x64. Though 8gb (2x4gb) would be better.

The PC this is used for is pretty much a single task of recoding video. It's the oldest PC I have and has
an Athlon x2 3.6Ghz . I do no overslocking. I have only one channel of memory going as we speak. I'm always interested in finding a deal but normally stay close to Ebay. As you can see this is pretty minimal. Usually the notations of a match include 667mhz bus speed and non EEC. I had an oopsie when trying to load the link at webuy-- It didn't complete.

Buying new rather than used, ATech shows the best deal I had seen. Quite frankly I was hoping to see $5.00 by this late date in the hardware cycle.

Thanks for advice.
