If you download the .iso from here, you just have to burn it.

opened the file

it wouldn't let me sellect all.
In other words, I think i may need to download again, and not let it unpack?

When you open Imgburn, choose "Write image file to disc" then where it says Source Please select a file.... you browse to where you have the iso file stored. Then just click on the iso.

You should have it saved to your desktop so you know where it is.

Tell it which dvd burner you want to use and change the write speed to 4x then click the icon near the bottom left to start the burning process.

Get the proper iso downloaded 1st. it should be 3.09 GBs

I gave you the link in my 1st reply.

Thanks for the help people,,,,,,,,,,
...........................now I only have the problem of finding the drivers for the computer.

1) where do I start? Do I just install the driver so the ethernet controller works and then go on line from there? The wireless doesn't have a driver yet either.

2) where do I go so that I don't tangle this thing up with "bloatware'?

1. Normally the OS should install the drivers automatically. Else we'll have to look at the manufacturers site of the components where that is not the case.

2. If you download the .iso from my link in post #3 or from Greg's link, there will be no bloatware.

Follow the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 starting with the ISo and tool to burn to DVD and you will end up with a perfect install IF you follow the steps.

If you had read the steps in the blue link it explains the answers to your questions. Put your ethernet or wireless driver in your backup so that if the installer doesn't have it you can install it to get online and do all of your Windows Updates which should deliver all of your drivers. Then it tells you what to do if any are missing.
