Malwarebites and MSE!

i was having a discussion with another forum member and we couldn't decide whether it is OK to have them both running simultaneous, I'm of the persuasion you can but ... correct me if I'm wrong!

Why would you need to? Why not just on demand scans with MBAM?

I run MSE but I think the free version of MBAM is only on demand. So every week I update MBAM and do a scan with it.

Hello,

I think you can run both. Malwarebytes paid edition only have real time protection but MSE has the real time. If your running Free edition of Malwarebytes then you can run both. If it's paid one i think then it's just a waste of resource to run 2 AV's with Real time protection.

With the Windows Firewall enabled with MSE installed and running, the PC is adequately protected as long as you also keep the OS up to date with all offered updated via Windows Update and practicing safe computing such as not clicking on links or opening attachments from unknown sources.
You don't need, nor should you use, any other security software that provides real time protection. You can use other security software, as desired, to scan the PC as long as it does not provide real time protection.

Is Microsoft Security Essentials-Windows Internet Explorer. The only Security I need to ever purchase for my PC? or do I need another security system like "M"-Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware I'm guessing it mostly protects my emails.__Thank You__ampogue

reading through that thread there is still argument for and against , so im still none the wiser i would possibly revert to manual scans although many people use both .
What would be the likely danger , ie whats worst case scenario if conflict occurs

I don't think there is potential danger. It might slow down the performance of the System. The portion i quoted is a MVP.

Its specifically MSE and Malwarebites, i know using different av's simultaneously creates issues but not sure as to Mse and MBAM as the jury still seems out.

I run NOD32 and the full version of MBAM with real time enabled and have no issues at all. Been doing it for years.
