Fine for me...I'm retired!
Thank you for the info.

I had to disable the last version anytime I used Flash because it would endlessly re-spawn itself & not initiate whenever MBAE was running. They apparently fixed that problem as now anything Flash fires right up without problems. However, for some odd reason, it still blocks IE from launching. Nonetheless I'm glad they got one problem fixed.

Hi:

@cottonball:
You are most welcome, as always.

@Borg 386:
I don't personally use IE 11. And I don't know if your issue is related, but there is one very recent report of an issue with IE 11 here.

Having said that, the best way to sort this out would be to follow the requested steps HERE, and then to create a new topic in the MBAE support forum HERE
The MBAE Product Manager, pbust, is very hands-on and personally replies to all trouble reports.
I am confident he would be able to assist you with sorting the issue or (failing that) identifying any "bugs" that might be responsible.

Cheers,

Well, it was more of PIA then anything. Other people had the same problem, although there didn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to why. A majority of users did not have any problem, it was only a few (as far as I know.) A couple gamers I talked to had probs with playing until they disabled it.

I don't use IE as my default (That would be FF), but sometimes I do use it. Just one of those weird software things.....LOL. Someone told me with the new version, IE crashes when they close it, it comes back up again & then shuts down normally. Probably one obscure setting or program causing the whole debacle.

Thank you for the info & the links, I'll check it out.

Hi:

Yeah, I don't browse with IE, either.

There *is* an IE "False Positive" fix listed in the new version's changelog.
But, again, I don't know if that's related in any way to the behavior you describe.
And, again, unless these sorts of bugs/glitches are reported in the product support forum, it's unlikely they will come to the attention of the devs/QA team for a fix.
Up to you, of course.

One other suggestion would be a clean reinstall:

1- Close all running applications
2- Uninstall MBAE from the Control Panel
3- Reboot
4- Delete the MBAE user data directory -> C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit
5- Download and install the latest version from http://downloads.mal...s.org/file/mbae

Hope this helps,

I'll give it a shot, thanks.

Like I said, more of a PIA then anything. I also have EMET running, so like I mentioned, could be a whole slew of different factors causing the prob. Since I don't use IE much, not too big of a deal, I'm glad they fixed the flash prob :D

Hmm, good that you guys fixed the issue when setting IE as default browser caused MBAE to think it's an exploit and block it.

Are there any known issues with MBAE or is it a no-brainer to use it? I seem to have missed it up till now, but it may be that it's time to get it. I mainly use Chrome with IE9 in reserve for the odd requirement. I make occasional use only of Word on one of my two machines but would reckon on getting the free version of MBAE for both machines - any thoughts?

I currently have an anti-virus program running in the background (MSE, which some love and some hate), and I do a twice-weekly or so manual scan with MBAM free version, although it's worth noting that I'm still using Ver 1.75 and am probably due now to upgrade to ver 2 as it seems to have become more dependable after a long time in beta, or what still seemed like beta. I guess it's time to review my security setup! That said, the present arrangements have served me well for two or three years now after a lot of hassle with my former anti-virus bloatware in particular.

Hello Seffrid:

The MBAE known issues and conflicts are few: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/135127-known-issues-conflicts/ and your system will certainly benefit from the exploit kit protection.
Download: https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbae/

An upgrade to v2.1.8.1057 for MBAM is most certainly in order too.
Download: https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam/

Cheers.

Thanks.

I have now installed MBAE on both my machines, but I will hold fire a little longer on upgrading MBAM to ver 2.

Hey all,

I am using the free version of MBAE (1.06 at the moment), this is supposed to be upgraded to 1.07 automatically, right? The option is checked, I guess waiting for Malwarebytes to pull the switch for all to receive the updates just like they did with MBAM couple of weeks ago?

FYI, a new MBAE build (1.07.1.1014) is available for download only (at this time)
Announcement

It is not YET available from the regular MBAE product download page or via the auto-updater.

In a week or two we'll start activating the automatic upgrades, so if you prefer not to do anything, simply relax and wait for your MBAE to upgrade itself.
Download link for 1.07.1.1014 is HERE
(NOTE: If you use the NoScript browser extension, you'll need to allow "box.com" and "boxcdn.net")

To upgrade, you may:

  • download the installer from that link and install on top of your existing build; OR
  • download the installer from that link and perform a clean upgrade:
1- Close all running applications
2- Uninstall MBAE from the Control Panel
3- Reboot
4- Delete the MBAE user data directory -> C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit
5- Download and install the latest version from that link
  • OR
  • wait until you receive the new build via the program auto-updater in a week or so (be sure you have "automatically upgrade to new versions" enabled in the Settings)
Cheers,

Announcement: MBAE 1.07.1.1015 is now available for download

INSTALLATION
Simply download from the product download page here. You can install on top of your existing installation.
In a week or two the MBAE product team will start activating the automatic upgrades, so if you prefer not to do anything, simply relax and wait for your MBAE to upgrade itself.

The installer is the same for both Free and Premium versions.
(Premium is activated with a valid license ID & Key.)

NOTE for MBAE Premium users:

The shields' configuration changes from one version to the other. MBAE does retain the shields from a previous version during an upgrade, but only from a previous major version (ie from 1.06 to 1.07). So if you are upgrading from 1.05 to 1.07 they won't be retained.
Cheers,
