Solved Malwarebytes Question

I have the pay version of MB and I have it set to notify me every two days if the definitions are out of date. It does that but shouldn't it do the updates on its own? Also I don't see a place where it tells you the last time it scanned so I don't know if it did or not. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks,

Hi there .. Mine does not update either on its own .. As for the last scan you can check the logs

Check under automated scheduling in Malwarebytes. It should be set to update automatically on a schedule. Mine has always updated on its own.

Under the scan tab, it shows the last scan.

What version do you have installed?

Right now, I see "last scan: 17 hours ago" at the bottom of the scan tab.

And: last updated: 10 hours ago

I'd prefer that info were on the dashboard page as that is the tab you first see when opening the app.

I have product and it automatically updates. Open product, Select Settings Tab, make sure update is checked. Then go to Scheduler Tab and make sure there is an update task scheduled. If not U can add one.

I have MB Pro.
You may want to check to see if the update scheduler is set.

I read on the MBAM forum some people are having problems with auto updates in version 2.0.
Some say changing the update to realtime works.

I see.
The same thing happened with Avast Free and Comodo Free.....they came out with clunkier versions of their interfaces.

Thanks for the info guys. I have the Pro and yes it does look easier to set. Sardonicus got me fixed up. I am automatic now. I had my updates to warn me every two days if not current, but had my auto update set for weekly. That doesn't work.

With Ver 1.75 the log showed when an update is attempted and if there are no updates available.
Ver 2.0 doesn't show this info in the log (as far as I know).
It only shows when the definitions are updated.

The system I'm on now with Ver 2.0 auto updated a while ago ...

Did you start out with Pro Version and eventually got updated to the Premium or did you just start out with Premium? I hope I stay at Pro.

I've had the Pro version on all my systems for a long time.
I updated this one to Version 2 over the top of Version 1.75 a couple of days ago.

Some things didn't seem quite right, so earlier today I ran the mbam-clean utility and then re-installed Ver 2.0.
I'll see how it goes the next few days...

Your Version 1 Lifetime license for Pro is good for Version 2.0 (Premium).
Existing Lifetime Licenses are grandfathered so you should not pay annual subscription fees for Ver 2.0.

For anyone interested, if you don't like the new Ver 2.0 UI, this is posted on the MBAM forum by the MBAM Product Manager.

For those of you who dislike the new UI, it would be most helpful if you could be as specific as possible about which aspects of it you do not like. We are listening to all feedback and criticism and if we find that a significant number of our users have problems with any specific aspect of the UI, we'll definitely consider changing it. In fact, we are already developing a new version that has several changes to the UI in 2.0 due to some of the feedback we've already received.

Seems the current rage is to emulate Win 8's GUI.

And that is exactly the reason why I am waiting to update! I'm glad that MBAM management is willing to listen to their users. If only M$ would do the same...

That's a perfect example of why a newer interface is not necessarily better.
