Many Win7 problems.

Red mate now there is this if you are going to use an image it is a fairly lengthy read but it might just get what you need. If you have any problems with this at all post in the tutorial thread.
Windows 7 Image - Customize in Audit Mode with Sysprep

I have to be honest I have never used an image for a clean install I can usually remember what programs I have and what. I do have the added advantage of four other machines (not all 7) to get back data and stuff from.

What is the program you use to make the backup images?
A Disk image has all the disk, data and OS. But some of the programs allow to extract only your data. Where do you save the backup image?
I do backup my data on a way it's for people that has some skills. It will be hard to explain.

I use whatever program it is that does backup images, windows backup, I suppose? I have a 1TB backup Drive. When I first got this computer, I burnt 4 recovery disks, as recommended. I can't find them at the moment, but they are around here somewhere? I've just moved house a few months ago and I still haven't sorted everything out of the boxes. My recovery partition has gone weird now and windows explorer stops working intermittently. I tried to save my settings on the easy transfer wizard but there was no option I could see to do that? What is obvious to you is not obvious to me.
