Mapping Drive to NAS after changing routers.

I have a Synology DS412+ which I have been mapping drives from Win7 box. I used to connect with:

\\DSSERVER\Share

I recently bought a new router. Other than that, the only other change was the LAN IP block (went from 192.168.254.x on the old router to 192.168.1.x on the new router). Bad news, I am no longer able to map a drive like above, although the following does work:

\\192.168.1.33\Share

Something tells me that my Win7 machine is still stuck on seeing DSSERVER like it was before. Does anyone have any pointers on how I can connect like I used to?

Is the old mapped drive still listed in Windows Explorer? If so, you need to disconnect it. Right-click on the old mapped drive and select "Disconnect".

Have you rebooted your PC and the NAS since switching to the new router?

Yeah, I disconnected the drive and have restarted both the PC and NAS. Still no luck.

Try flushing the DNS cache. Open a command prompt and enter: ipconfig /flushdns

I was hoping that would do the trick, but still didn't work.

Crazy, isn't it. I'm wondering now if it's linked to the Synology server some how? I am still able to map drives to a remote work server even after using my new router.
