Are these "perceived" issues or real problems for some people?
Is passing comment and offering opinions "whining"?
Is it really a "minority" of people "whining" or is there indeed, a silent majority?
Think I better seek help........I'm "imagining" that Micro$oft are trying to extricate more $$'s out of my pocket any way they can. I expect to be taken into custody shortly and probably waterboarded until I agree to their demands.

So we aren't entitled to our own opinions, only yours? There is nothing irrational about being forced to replace perfectly good hardware or software because a newer OS won't support it (that was the reason I didn't up grade to Win 7 until just before XP reached EOL; and I didn't have any issues with Win 7 other than that). There is no other software that records OTA television as well as Windows Media Center (so far, there are companies, such as Silicon Dust, that are working on it). It is a fact that some Win10 updates have bricked or otherwise impaired some Win 10 installations. It is a fact that MS has been annoyingly and uderhandedly nagging the holy hairy heck out us to upgrade to Win 10 even Win 7 will not reach EOL until 01/14/2020, almost four years from now. Disliking certain things is a perfectly valid personal choice not worthy of ridicule in itself. Being in a minority does not automatically equate being invalid or wrong, or vice versa.

I received 15 Important updates for this round. My policy/algorithm now is:
1) Ignore optional and even recommended. MS definitions are

• Recommended updates address non-critical problems or help enhance your computing experience. While these updates do not address fundamental issues with your computer or Windows software, they can offer meaningful improvements. These can be installed automatically.
• Optional updates can include updates, drivers, or new software from Microsoft to enhance your computing experience. You can only install these manually.

Given the stage of life of Windows 7 I don't expect much really happening with Recommended or Optional (I could be wrong )
2) Make a Macrium System image
3) Install all Important updates. Even these have become more frequent.
4) Run sfc /scannow.
If no errors go back to using the PC.
If there are file system errors then perform a system reimage and find the offending KB when time permits.

Well Jack I don't really know but you better get a huge tin foil hat and vest because their will be some that will be attacking you. You have a right to your opinion but those opinions must be approve by others.

What should I do because I'm not sure?
It's a tough call Jack. A little something to think on.
Always agree with the important others or trade in your tin foil hat and vest for ones made out of cast iron. Their are some that will continue to attack you if you don't like W-10.
You could also lie and tell others that you love W-10 and take the easy way out. The world will once again love you and the attacks will stop.
A reminder Jack. Be careful your keyboard can get you in trouble so just keep your keyboards mouth shut if you don't agree.

I got a new PC with Windows 10. It's my main machine now as my old Windows 7 laptop succumbed to old age. Just my opinion but I agree with lady back bear. I'll roll with Windows 10 as it was pre installed and it's the future. But I don't like it much. There are an awful lot of glitches. It looks cartoony, I can't see serious business being keen on its GUI. And I don't like forced updates or the mobile phone centric apps and store. That's what my phone and iPad are for, I want a serious desktop machine. Plus loss of features like native DVD playback or MPEG playback. Plus half my game library is ruined as MS squashed securom and safedisc and I cannot re enable the service as this is not an upgrade from 7. So quite a few reasons not to like it. Maybe it'll get better but for now it's not really taken our family by storm

We do still have an old Windows 7 laptop knocking about, it's very slow. But one criticism of Windows 7 nowadays is trying to install these pesky patch Tuesday updates. In last couple of months it is very slow to check for updates and download them. I still haven't managed to do this Tuesday's ones as the machine is just constantly checking for updates. Seems ms servers probably to blame - I guess another method of forcing Windows 10 as the prioritise server traffic for Windows 10 operations. Some suggest leaving laptop on overnight to check and eventually it'll find them although that's not good really as don't want to leave a machine switched on overnight particulary.

I am one of the "minority users with irrational fears" and one of the reasons I joined this forum was to get help from others to keep 10 OFF my pc, so me not wanting it, is an issue with win 7 that I am getting help with from people on this forum - just as much as stuff like "how do I enable drag and drop files".

Speaking as someone who only 3 weeks ago changed from 32bit XP to win 64bit 7 it has taken me 2 weeks to transfer my programs and hardware over using workarounds and hacks each involved me having to learn new stuff and I just managed to get them on, I doubt very much that they will work on win 10. And I don't want to have to go through all that again.
I am still learning win 7 and do not want to waste any more of my time having to learn win10, I don't do mobile or apps and like others have said I just want a fast simple working desktop, I used my in-laws win10 pc at the weekend and to me it just looked silly and childish.

I'm kind of surprised anyone actually uses Internet explorer anymore :/
Even if they did it's quite easy to change a homepage and what opens when opening a new tab

Most just use it once to download another browser anyway
And if they really/ really have too.
