Today i had to reinstall that game because new rules with User Interface went on the Origin software. First i made a repair, but my game was on my system hard drive and it had install the updated files to path i did set up afterward, on another internal hard drive, so couldn't run the game anymore....had to uninstall!

Moved the game & reinstalled it all from my CDs to the pointed other hard drive (include DLC packs) instead of the system one, it has been a while i didn't bump onto a "awc.dll failed to load" kind of pop in message!

God!:( Cursed Origin!...Was missing even after a repair install all the activation stuff .exe and the awc.dll.

Picked up the one from another folder and dropped it in my Binaries one...no "awc.dll failed to load" anymore, but the game wouldn't start past the launcher.exe!

Patched the games to v1.02 (Origin didn't done it after update ), Reinstalled Adobe Air, Reinstalled Origin Soft...

Found the new install created a new folder in the _Installer folder, call DISK1 (about 180Mb)...there's an AutoRun.exe in it and had to manually launch it as Admin.

It launched the install but you still have to manually point to the main Install folder.

Looks it had downloaded few files more including the activation stuff...So the game decided to launch again...

Hope this will help some!

PS:
In the _Installer folder, call DISK1 (about 180Mb) was also created when the game was first updated by Origin soft (before i right click for a repair install) on the main Hard drive (OS), and wouldn't launch either.
So I guess the trick works for both Main OS and 2nd Hard drive.

Yea I got a orgin and steam copy of ME2 since any EA game key you already own say on steam or retail you can register to orgin for another backup copy. Sucks you had to go through all that, usually well for me orgin is pretty easy to install games. Haven't bought a orgin game but just have my ea keys registered there since i owned the games either retail or steam and it's good to have a retail backup online just incase my cds go bad.

Oh Well... At least i learned to sorted it out.

I far prefer retail DVD but got some from Steam that i have backed up just in case of a reinstall.
Steam is good for backing the downloaded stuff from them and it takes barely few minutes to restore the game from the backup folder.
