In device manager Under the tab Other Devices is Mass Storage Controller, it has a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark inside. I can't seem to be able to update the driver or do anything with it to get it to install.

Here is the Hardware ID's for the Mass Storage Controller.

PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_01241025&REV_01
PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_01241025
PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&CC_018000
PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&CC_0180

I also have another device with the triangle so here are the hardware ID's for this aswell.

Hi portuga, the only driver i could find was for XP Software & Driver Downloads HP Pavilion zv6270us Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
go to device manager and look for any devices with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark , right click on it and select "update driver" the mass storage controller is usually the media card reader ;)

pebbly.. that sometimes works, but if MS update didn't already find a driver for it, it's because the vendor and device id aren't in its database for windows 7 drivers

This is one one of the issues that really irks me about microsoft and most major computer manufacturers. There are a lot of older computers that can run windows 7 if you can find vista drivers, but have hardware that's officially excluded from the compatibility list.. Seriously, for the first time in microsoft's history, they produced an OS that's lighter on the system than the previous one, then don't support half the hardware that was around when vista was released?

both of you.. check out this thread.. a better way to find drivers

portuga.. your laptop isn't listed as even being supported for vista, but I found a driver that might work here:

Thank you so much madtownidiot :D The driver you recomended worked pretty well. I took a look before on that tutorial but I couldn't help myself. I still have problem with PCI MODEM

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4378&SUBSYS_3085103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4378&SUBSYS_3085103C
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4378&CC_070300
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4378&CC_0703

Would you have any clues?

Thank you so much plebby for your tip. I fixed it, but I still have problems with my PCI MODEM, actually I see in the window DEVICE MANAGER>OTHER DEVICES a yellow triangle on PCI MODEM and under I see a question mark on UNKNOWN DEVICE, when I go to the properties>details I don't see any ID, but there is many options.

that one is has no drivers anywhere that I can find for either vista or windows 7..its an ATI SB400 AC 97 Modem and you're probably out of luck with it. AC 97 architecture almost never works in windows 7

I found this 64 bit driver for your PCI Modem (scanned with Mse virus free). Uploaded to RapidShare http://rapidshare.com/files/422807725/sp35736.exe
It's a Vista 64 bit driver so you will have to try and install it in compatibility mode Vista http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html
Hope this one will do the trick. You will have to click on the Free slow and wait for it to count down to download the file. Fabe

Well then it sounds like it's the modem listed in post #11 above. Sorry it didn't work hoped I had found one that would.
I'll keep looking but if what's in the above post is true then it doesn't look good for you. (not that I'm questioning madtownidiots statement) cause I saw the same thing when searching.
Gave it a go anyways. Fabe

ERROR: Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MODEM device for this driver.

THEFABE, I think it worked but this time I tried to use a different method...

1 step: I created a restore point, just in case...
2 step: I extracted the program above with 7-zip in sp35736 file in my disk and,
3 step: I Opened the DEVICE MANAGER, clicked on the yellow sign, then PROPERTIES, DRIVER tab, clicked on the button UPDATE DRIVER, inside there is 2 options, I chose BROWSE MY COMPUTER FOR DRIVER SOFTWARE. The next window I clicked on LETME PICK FROM A LIST OF DEVICE DRIVERS ON MY COMPUTER, next window I clicked HAVE DISK and I browsed to the file where I extracted the driver (sp35736 file) that I downloaded from rapidshare. In the file name field the name *.inf was already in there, so the only one archive in that file (sp35736 file) I could visualize was CPL308By. I picked it and I crossed my fingers.

After the installation I opened the DEVICE MANAGER window, the yellow triangle wasn't in there no more

Now I have only 1 left. In the DEVICE MANAGER , Under OTHER DEVICES there is UNKNOWN DEVICE with a question mark on it. What is it mean?
