( Decaytion | Xeroblaqk ) is proud to present the first Maxthon 3 skin on DeviantART. Version 2.0 to be exact! Version 1.7 was a huge success and the need for a good minimal theme for Maxthon 3 was bigger than I expected, so without further ado, please read through the changelog on what exactly was done!

Change log version 2.0

• Removed Undo Tab close button.
• Removed History Button.
• Removed Search Bar.
• Removed Avatar.
• Removed Home Button and placed it in Main Menu.
• Moved Blue Menu button from far right to upper left of the browser with a brand new Logo.
• Reduced Max-Tab-Size to 160px from 180px to allow for more tabs open.
• Made Status Bar Transparent.
• Added slight blue gradient to main skin.
• Square tabs.
• Thinner tabs.
• Re-did tab overlay to tint of blue.
• Moved Favorites + Refresh button to right side of address bar.

Known Issues

• Transparent Status bar is hard to read on darker backgrounds, adding a glow around text causes major lag on the browser. Work around being worked on.

I'd love to hear feedback from the SevenForums community. Ideas and suggestions are welcomed as well.

A quick update has happened I'm excited to show it off, and almost ready for the public.

Padding space between tabs/top has been reduced!

Status bar height has been reduced.

Hey thanks, Xeroblaqk! I got it installed. It looks great on my HP2509 wide screen monitor. This skin is much better (for me) than default. Again, thanks!

You can switch themes that let you put tabs on the bottom. I prefer them on top though. Maybe I'll make a theme with the tabs below after this one!

Here we go, a nice little preview of What v2 of Evolve already looks like

*Thinner/Square tabs to maximize space!
*Blue Gradient for main background, will be enhanced by release time.

*Tab Options now in more optimized position with skinnier hover image, will change to square by release!

*Status Bar even thinner than ever to keep the main focus on the web pages you're visiting!

I've been tracking the development of v3 since the first Alpha builds. Back when I used XP, Maxthon 2 was my browser choice. I got fed up of v3 quickly, lol, especially when IE9 came to life, but it is still a very good browser.

I always used to use Maxthon when I was running XP and I did try it for a while when I first got Windows 7 but since having IE9 I haven't bothered to look at it again as IE9 fulfils my browsing habits, it doesn't mean I wont have another look at some point but at the moment I'm happy with what I have.

@Mark233 thank you too! A lot has changed already in the past 24 hours from 2.0, I already have 2.5 nearly complete. I have a few bugs to kink out, but let's just say the whole focus is to have a minimal interface so you can look at the websites you're using. Which is the full point of any browser. The extra crap is just that... extra.

So 2.5 will have the following changes:

1. Removal of the Main Menu button in replacement we'll have a wrench icon to the right of the address bar.
2. Refresh button will be moved back to the left of the address bar.
3. Used correct code for Homepage name.
4. Adding the ability to Login/Logout of your Maxthon profile.

Anymore suggestions? Feel free to toss them my way! This theme has even the developmental team on Maxthon on their feet and they've been sending me emails left and right it's all been so much. Glad everyone likes it too!
