Maya 2011 Issues

Hi everyone I am new and I am not sure if I am oposting in the right place but I am a 2011 student edition Maya User with a "compatible" windows 7. So far my issues are that my NVidia Graphics card has crashed twice and every time I want tyo switch a scene; Maya stops working. Please help or I'll have to go to my last resort... calling gateway autodesk (and microsoft possibly) with my angry voice (my attempt at an in thread joke)

Is you hardware 100% maya compatibile? have you checked their list to see if yours is on it? Autodesk - Autodesk Maya Services & Support - Certified Hardware
