Mcafee messing up

Hi, My Mcafee is messing up because of IE9, any known fix other than removing it or changing browser? I have Chrome but I use IE9 for other things.

If you know a fix please note it

Mcafee will not Be working fine , with Any Beta Version of INternet Explorer.... Uninstall the IE, or else you will be getting the blank page. I work for Mcafee.

Mcafee user interface has designed using the scripting languages, if there is any problem with scirpt files, or script errors .. It will show blank page. you will get the blank page. so times running the IE fix . will fix the problem... Best to Remove the BETA version of IE>

Hi there

Mcafee -- time for R.I.P.

Just get rid of it and install MSE instead -- ZERO cost, small, runs unobtrusively, updated very frequently and takes almost ZERO resources.

For a home user this is by far THE BEST BANG FOR BUCK. (COSTS NOTHING --IT'S FREE AND WORKS FINE).

Like all AV software if you DO get notification that your system has been infected I would always recommend a complete OS re-install or at least restore a CLEAN image.

As I keep saying on these Forums the time - especially for home users -- for PAID FOR AV software is OVER --DEAD --FINISHED.

None of these products designed for NON CORPORATE USE work any better than the FREE MSE.

OK you might get Virus A is picked up by product B and not product C or VIRUS B is picked up by product C and not product B but these days all this stuff will get picked up within hours by MSE if it is perceived to be a real threat.

There is no such thing as 100% protection in any case unless you leave your computer TOTALLY SWITCHED OFF.

Just surf safely and if you DO get a virus take appropriate action --restore a CLEAN image or re-install the OS.

Thanks, I would agree with this but if you have paid for a subscription you would like it to work. I understand its IE9 but I want to keep it insted of IE8 which sucks.

Better idea would be to fix McAfee to work with the beta of IE9. Or do they plan on waiting until it is released, and then hoping that it will work properly?

Thanks, I would agree with this but if you have paid for a subscription you would like it to work.

My Dad did the same thing with McAfee and I ended up finding over 50 pieces of Malware on his computer which McAfee had let in and left undetected. That's a very high price to pay to keep McAfee.

Hi all
as I keep saying "Ad Nauseam" -- just JUNK all this other AV B/S. Some of the guys in India or Singapore will HATE me for saying this since this is their job -- however MSE really does work better than a lot of the other stuff and to those guys in India -- how does it feel to be on the REVERSE end of "Off shoring" for a change.

Am not understanding what your getting at. Mcafee is being sold at a discount price for being a student. IE9 is messing it up and am looking for a fix without reverting back to IE8.

It isn't IE9 that is messing McAfee up, it is the fact that from the looks of things McAfee hasn't started to make their program compatible with IE9.

And the fix is to either revert to IE8 until such a time as McAfee decides to fix it, or bite the bullet and ditch McAfee for something else.

Another nifty on demand scanner is Hitman Pro 3.5 which is a second opinion Cloud Scanner which only takes a few seconds to scan and is amazingly accurate.

I've had McAfee along with various issues....ALL BAD The list is too long but let me narrow it down to the general highlights:

McAfee missing several worms/Viruses on my FD, telling me "all is good" while MSE detects them and removes them. (These viruses originated from the college I attend, guess what they run for an AV? To date, they can't get rid of these annoyances, 3 semesters now)

McAfee hosing itself along with several of my system files when it did a "Security Center Update". It hosed itself so badly that doing a restore 2 days back before the incident couldn't save it.

McAfee not being satisfied with hosing XP & Win 7 machines and setting their sites on Vista. I spent a weekend assisting 3 people running Vista getting McAfee out of their system. This time their "update" wouldn't allow any access to the net and hosed it's own files in pretty much the same manner as it did on mine.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a useless piece of software.
