whenever McAfee security center begins the automatic updates process it slows my computer down so that it is useless until it is done updating, and sometimes Mcafee automatic updates slows itself down so it takes even longer to update. any suggestions?

yes it does slow my computer but should it be slow to the point where I am unable to open windows explorer or any other program until the automatic updates are done?

McAfee?

Dear theski232!
I am not saying that McAfee is a bad choice of AV! It's your choice what to use, but in the past I have made my own experiment with it, where results were far from bad they were the worst...
Back to you, you have to live with it... unfortunately...
Or wait till subscription expires and get yourself something more... lightweight...and not resource hungry. What exactly? Look for AV in our forum there are plenty of info and suggestions.
Cheers!

I use McAfee at work (not by choice) and anytime it check for updates or does anything for that matter I pretty much have to sit back and let it do it's thing. The computer is useless when McAfee is updating.
