Just purchased a laptop with Win 7. Has Mcafee installed. Want to unistall it as soon as I start it up for the first time. I know there have been issues with some uninstalling this in the past. Want to avoid any issues. Was going to install Revo uninstaller and remove it from there. Good idea ? Or another way. Thanks for the help.

I have had the same problem in the past, they really don't want it off one's PC do they!

Use Revo Uninstaller and make sure you run the "Forced Uninstall" too. Other than this it is a trip into your registry and, unless you are 100% confident in working there, I would stay well away!

Let us know how you get on as my mothers lap top has Mcafee and I want to get rid at some point.

Andy

You mention "Forced Uninstall" Not firmiliar with that. Do you mean Advanced? Or is it in Revo uninstall Pro. I am using the free version.

Get rid of McAfee

Definitely the McAfee Removal tool! It is the only way to get rid of the registry keys that they put in there
with "Gorilla Glue"!
