Media Center extenders and TV support

Hi guys, I have set up the TV in the main room as a Media Extender using my X360 (which at the moment is unusable because I think my router needs upgrading as it’s just B/G). However, looking to get a smaller TV (26-32”) for the bedroom and would like to also use that as a Media Extender. Do TV’s at the moment come packaged up with any off the shelf solutions or would I need to get another Media Extender? What would be my best option?

The Xbox 360 and upcoming Ceton Echo are the only 2 current media center extenders.

If I were you, I'd buy a used Xbox 360 and invest in hardline ethernet or powerline ethernet adapters. Wireless is AWEFUL for HD video. Even with 450MBPS 5ghz wireless N and adapter, wireless throughput is too inconsistent. Unless the router is 10-20 feet away in direct line of sight, you're pretty much SOL.

Maybe it is different for 7MC and extenders; I am just now getting into them - but when I was serving HD media to my PS3 over a media server, I had next to no issues with quality or speed when streaming 1080HD video and digital 5.1 sound - and my server was in the basement on the other side of the house, with plenty of walls (and 2 floors) between...

The "passive" (i.e. 100% silent and very low-power) Linksys DMA2100 is still available, even if it is not being manufactured by Cisco any longer.

I've got two of them in use in my house (as I'm not a gamer and have no use for an Xbox) and am totally satisfied.
