Media Player 11 for Windows 7 64-bit???

I really do not like Windows Media Player 12 in Windows 7, mainly because of the lack of mini player mode. Is it possible to downgrade to WMP 11 in Win 7 64-bit? All of the solutions I have seen only work for Win 7 32-bit. Has anyone encountered a fix for this in Win 7 64-Bit? Or am I on a wild goose chase?

Wild goose chase for now, I'm afraid. Trust me, it'll be big news when someone finally figures it out. Set up a recurring calendar reminder to google it once a month.
