Media Player 12.0.7601.17514 - Unable to create and save playlists

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium & Windows Media Player 12.0.7601.17514 (Fully Updated).

Every time I try to make & save a playlist, it never works - I get the message: "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while creating or saving the playlist."

After following the link for trouble shooting, nothing helpful comes up.

Try resetting the media features see if that helps. Turn all the media features off and reboot then turn them back on again and reboot - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5023-windows-features-turn-off.html
Also a quick system file scan wouldn't hurt at this point - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

I performed both actions that you suggested, but neither worked.

There are 2 ways to save a list using the save list button or the save as from the drop down menu, does this happen on both.
