I am running media player 12 (windows 7 ultimate 32bit) and it is linked to a remote computer using Windows Live Essentials.

The remote computer contains many stored videos.

When media player opens the remote computer's videos show up under Other Libraries/videos.

What I am want to do is force Media Player to open up to the Other Libraries/ video list rather then the default (local drive music), but I am unable to find a command line option to direct media player to open directly to a different location.

Is there a command line option or plug-in or registry hack that will cause media player to open and display the other library videos as its default location?

Thank you

You can try changing the Rip music folder. That may only work in iTunes though. Another way to do it would be making a shortcut to one of the files on the other computer. Again, I'm not sure if that will do the stunt as desired.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Unfortunately, since the path is to the drive is through windows live over the internet, I do not think either of your suggestions would work, since there is not "path" to the file per se to change the rip location to.

And opening the file sure sounds like it would work, but again no path, and in looking at the properties for any of the files in media player that are on the remote, they all have an http:// address. (which, if put in the browser, will actually download the video before it plays)

Again thank you for the ideas, but sadly neither seem to solve the issue.

Any other ideas?
