Media Player Grouping problem

I have this problem with lots of my music,

I have all my music organized on my HD, directories etc.
Media player however doesnt care.
I tried once to put in all the file info, when I was running XP.

Well anyways,
It has grouped large amounts of music from different folders under the same albumc names, like <unknown>, other, unknown genra, etc..
It will not let me seperate any files from those albums, and have them either as singles or a few files..
how to explain it takes songs and mixes them all up and I cant sort them out, there's no options to edit then information other then the album icon.. which does them all.. and it's pissing me off.

I have read through your post a few times and really cannot understand what you are trying to do! Can you post a screenshot showing he problem and then explain exactly what you mean?

Every grouping of songs are of different bands,
And it wont let me ungroup them.
IN some cases it has mixed and match multiple songs from the same bands like this.

Looks like you have chosen to sort your files by Title hence the alphabetical order. Go to "Organize" then "Sort by" and make your choice there!

that didnt change anything,
still grouping songs under unknown albums, and other, etc that I cant seem to seperate them away and regroup them correctly.

I thought this would be quite straightforward but i have to admit I'm having problems too. I cannot get my edits to save. I've tried the "Apply media information changes" and that confirms 100% success but there is no change in the titles etc that I have edited. I haven't, of course, tried to change the length of the clip etc

Hmmm, looks as though you've organised your songs by simply renaming them by artist/title. (Hence the "Unknown Artist/Unknown title/Other (genre)" on the left hand side of the screen grab.)

Windows Media Player (and most, if not all other media players) sort tracks by the metadata contained in the mp3. A little homework in wikipedia will sort you out. I'd recommend using a quality id3 editor, such as Tagscanner. It does the business, and it's free.
