Every time I open media player it plays a 10 segment of audio. The same audio every time. I can use the stop button but the pause button is ineffective. I can close the media player and re-open the MP only to have the same segment play again. I can activate MP from the task bar (hence no target programmed) and it still plays the same segment. The clip ends and MP reports that it is 17% buffered but all has stopped.
I have a few shortcuts geared to play radio stations. All I do is click on that shortcut and the radio station plays. I also have the task scheduler triggering a short cut so that I have a specific radio playing int he morning and use Audacity, also scheduled task to record and stop recording a radio event. I have no idea of anything I just mention leads to an answer.
I went into Windows Media Player and looked around. The Unsaved List reports WAMU-1 which is the radio station that was being played when all this stopped. I can delete the option in the list but it comes back when I activate the short cut and MP plays the clip again and stops.
I not only reset the computer but also ran Chkdsk /f. It reported 2 fixes in stage 1 and 2 in stage 2 but the clip still plays and stops. No "remove from list" or delete option seems to work.
I have done a search for the file but it is not found.
I have not tried it yet, wonder if I can uninstall WMP and reinstall it.
Thoughts and experiences welcome...
