Hi All,

Thought I would ask the question:
Does anyone know how to stop Windows 7 trying to fill up my USB stick with music from my computer everytime I plug the USB stick in???
It basically just fills up the stick until it is full - and has overwritten other items I had on the stick a couple of times now.
Enfuriating!

Thanks!

WMP 12 is set up by default to sync any removable device over 4 GB and it can't tell the difference between an mp3 player and a usb flash drive. To solve your problem, connect your usb stick then do the following:

Click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Media Player.

If the Player is currently open and you’re in Now Playing mode, click the Switch to Library button in the upper-right corner of the Player.

In the Player Library, click the Sync tab, click the Sync options button , and then click Set up sync.

In the Device Setup dialog box, clear the Sync this device automatically check box, and then click Finish.

Or even better:

Follow these steps to disable the service.
1. Click
start and type services.msc in the start search box and press enter.
2. Scroll down the list and select the service.
3. Right click on the service and choose the option
properties.

4. You may change the
startup type to disable or the service status to stop.

Why is Win7 soooooo difficult? (Rhetorical question)
