Memory Card Driver

Hi, i have a problem with the Memory Card Driver. I dowloaded and installed the drivers from the sony soport because i have a laptop Sony Vaio VGN-NR160E. After install the driver, the operating system not detect the laptops´s memory card. Any idea to solven this problem ?. Thanks.

Sounds like the drivers weren't installed correctly. Try rebooting the system and then putting in a memory card to see if the OS recognizes it.

And uninstall/reinstall the drivers, this time in compatibility mode. What build of Windows 7 do you use?

Should be in the lower right hand corner of your screen .

The build is the 7000, but i have the original problem yet. I did that you said my but i didnt find the solution. Thanks.

Then you may have to wait for your manufacture to release a Windows 7 compatible driver. Most likely, depending on how old your memory card reader is, the manufacture will not release a Windows 7 compatible driver.

Alternatively, you could upgrade to a later release of Windows 7; with better driver compatibility.

What other Operating Systems do you have installed on your computer as of right now?

i had installed windows xp before, and now i have installed the windows 7. The laptop have as original operating system the windows vista.

Slightly off topic but I had a sound card a philips 5.1 sound card eorked fine on vista but win7 would not work. No updated drivers . Bought a cheap 5.1 C-media sound card problem solved . Only reason I mention it is that win7 being completely new people will find problems with various hardware .

The supported hardware device list has been greatly updated in build 7077 so you could give that a try. You can get it from any good torrent site. The stability in 7077 is also a lot better than previous releases.

However, there are also devices that have been removed from the 7077 device repository that were there in previous builds...like my ScanJet 7400C

I upgrade to the build 7077 and i have the problem stil. Any other solution or idea ?.

Yes, do a Clean Install instead of upgrading, as I had the same issue with an LG X110 netbook not detecting the memory card / USB controller, and I upgraded from 7057 to 7068 and the problem persisted. When I did a clean install, the problem was gone.

Do a clean install of 7077 and see if that helps.
