I have a Memory card reader and on the windows explorer it shows all the card slots as drives.

Is it possible for it to only show the slot that has media in (dare I say, like a mac)?

The same with my optical drives, is it possible to 'hide' them only showing when they have mounted a an item of optical media?

Or is this just pipe dreams, and only the preserve of unix based systems? :(

thanks Antman,

this did the trick, but for some reason my two DVD drives and the cursed floppy drive still show up in the 'computer' window.

It it a case of that's just the way it is or is there a solution?

Don't know. In earlier builds, if I had nothing in the OD drive, the drive did not appear. They do now. Could be because one of my ODDs is virtual.

You could try disable (not uninstall) the floppy in DevMgr.

Hello Saverio,

You can also disable the floppy drive in the BIOS to not have it display in Computer as well.

I noticed that CD/DVD (optical) drives are not affected by this setting either, and will still display in Computer no matter how you have it set in Folder Options.

Hope this helps some,
Shawn
