I just found a picture that a friend once took from the Eiffel tower in Paris that shows the La Defense district in the background. That's where my office was on the 18th floor of the Tour Franklin. My windows were facing Paris with a beautiful view all over town.
One day - it must have been an anniversary of the Montgolfier brothers - they launched about 100 hot air balloons in the park of Versailles. The wind blew them right in front of my window. An amazing parade for about a couple of hours.
Another time I went to the office on July 14 which is a French holiday to see the planes and choppers that were part of the parade fly overhead.
Those were the good old days. Too bad we cannot turn the time back.
