Can anyone tell me why im only getting 4,300mbs when i do a memory test. Im using corsair ultra low latency ram. I have 2 2gb sticks and 2 1gb sticks. Will it improve if i remove the 2 1gb sticks and just run 2 2gb sticks. Here is my #'s any help appreciated.

How fast do you think your memory is suppose to go? Are you having performance issues?

7.1 for memory score!!??

That is superfast!

Highest I've seen so far.

LOL, thats pretty high, 7.1, mines only 6.4 X), and about your question, maybe the 2 1GB sticks are running a lower frequency?

I have seen people with 8k mbs transfer rate for memory tests on this forum, There all the same brand and type just different size but have same frequency settings. And the reason for the taking the 2 sticks out is becouse i actually had a score of 7.9 with only the 2 2gb sticks in. And no im not having any performance issues other then the issue i always have... Its never fast enough.

Make sure they are dual channel and keep the ones that are most similar in pairs, say you have two 1066 sticks, its best to keep those in the rails side by side and really you don't wanna mix clock speeds and types anyways, it can cause bottlenecking especially if you game ;)

So your saying that slot 1 and 2 should have both the 2gb sticks and 3 and 4 should be both the 1gb sticks. There the exact same ram except the size, the frequency's are both the same on all the sticks. I thought the 2 2gb sticks needed to stay in the same color slots ie 2 2gb sticks in orange or slot 1 and 3 and the 1 gb sticks in greens ie slots 2 and 4. Am i wrong for this assumption?

Not sure what kinda board you have but mine has the two color slots side by side. say two yellow then two black. i'm sure that if you keep the bigger in slots one and two they will be used more roughly where as the extra two would be to help keep up pace just metaphorically. if you run benchmarks, then your best bet would be swapping and experimenting what gives you best speeds and latency with which pairs.

Yea my motherboard is mine is not color coded like that mine goes white 1 black 2 white 3 black 4. so I thought color coded but not side by side. I will try putting the 2 2gb sticks in slots 1 and 2 and 2 1gb in 3 and 4 and see were that gets me.

From what I remember to run dual channel you have to have the same sticks in the same colored slots. But I would suggest checking your motherboard manufacturers manual or site for the proper way to use it. IMO

Dual channel is different with every board manufacturer.

On some boards you have to put two sticks in the same color to have dual channel.
On other's you have to put them in the different colors.

Check the manual when in doubt.

You should only be running the 2X2GB sticks in slots 2 and 4 because they get the info from the CPU first. You should not be mixing Ram sets, it's never a good idea and usually will cause HDD corruption or just general instablity. The 680i has it's dimm slot colors alternating so use the same colored slots for your Ram. Use the Black slots only for 2X2GB. Do not pair them side by side as someone suggested, that is incorrect.

My memory score is 7.5 running 2X2GB of GSkill pc2 9600 at 1200MHz.

My Memory Score is pegged at 7.9 with a transfer rate of a little over 25k MB/s I'm not sure how fast you need to be to peg out at 7.9, probably around 10k somewhere. Those numbers are kind of wierd anyway. I just use the built in command prompt ":\winsat mem" to fine tune my memory.

What is the current Mhz of your memory right now? I know when I had my quad core running at 3Ghz and DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 memory, my speed was only around 5k MB/s so you aren't too far off.

What is your CPU speed and Memory Speed? I see the latency is 5's compared to my 4's. and memory usually doesn't run at 800 Mhz by default, uaully it is 667. So if you are running 667, latency 5's then most likely your MB/s is correct.
