I bought new memory but it's not really working so far.
I know I won't be able to use the full 4gb memory but that's okay.

Current Memory:
1GB Twinmos 001-667-TWI-240-U-16-H-5.0
1GB Kingston KVR667D2N5/1G
www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR667D2N5_1G.pdf

New memory

2x 2GB KINGSTON KVR667D2S5/2G www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR667D2S5_2G.pdf
Or KINGSTON KVR667D2N5/2G www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR667D2N5_2G.pdf

I put 1 stick on the board(to see how it goes) on Slot 1. Bios says 2048 ram in post and within the setup itself it displays the correct information DDR2 667 mhz 2048 mb.

Now when I start windows it is stuck in an infinite boot loop, Last known config, safe mode, nothing works.

Windows 7 setup from boot also gets stuck while loading before it even starts( no reboot)

Motherboard:
Asrock 775 twins rev 2.0

I read now that the memory is So-dimm ddr2.. does it matter much?

I bought it 2nd hand and it just said ddr2 667 mhz nothing about sofimm so I bought it assuming it's normal ddr2 667 mhz..

The package says:
KVR667D2S5/2g
2gb PC2-5300 CL5 200 - Pin SODIMM

On the memory it says:
KVR667D2N5/2g --sp 1.8v.

SO-DIMMs are usually used in notebooks. They are only 6cm long, and won't fit in your motherboard. Check out this link. SO-DIMM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is the specifications for your memory:http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR667D2N5_2G.pdf

It ain't so-dimm.

Do you have access to another working computer? You might want to download and burn Memtest 86+. Then install both dimms in your motherboard, and boot from the CD and run some tests to see if the memory checks out ok.

You didn't say if you get stuck in the boot loop with your original memory installed? Can you clarify?

thanks
