Merging files & folders

Good morning!

Has anyway experienced how two (or more) folders merge?
I've tried several times but instead of asking me to overwrite existing files and folders W7 puts them in there en renames them with "* - copy".
This way I loose track of what's happening.

Any help is appreciated!

Was working before, but now not?

This was working before. Anyone know how to set an option to put it back? Or which update to uninstall to get it back?
