From your message it appears that you are getting a proper display. You can try uninstalling the display driver and then reinstall it again. This might correct the problem.
Please also fill the the System Specs as best as you can and especially for the Display Driver.

wanchoo, I know it's taken a few days to respond to this, but if I uninstall the display driver will that disable the display? and how do I uninstall it?
Normally the display does does not get disabled but runs with a generic driver at a very much lower resolution. You can uninstall any hardware driver that you want from the Device Manager.
