Solved Message pop up 'you may be victim of software counterfeiting'

the desktop turned black and the following message is shown on the bottom right corner of the desktop: Windows7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine

I have a genuine Windows 7 version installed. I tried several methods in my efforts to get rid of the distracting message but failed. Here is what I did last:
- typed cmd, opened as Admin, typed slmgr -rearm and rebooted

Any suggestion how to overcome this problem? Thank you.

MS office 2002 is in fact not pirated. Just amateurish transferred from an old PC to a laptop when I recall what happened in these years.

Your Office is a VLK version, which is Volume Licensed version. This version is licensed by MS for organisations like schools & universities, so they can supply students with a licensed version to use, while they attend that organisation. When they leave the license becomes illegal for their continued use. These licenses are renewed on a regular basis to keep them from expiring.

If the VLK license expires for that organisation then it will show up as Blocked, as it will if the student who has left the organisation does not keep renewing the license supplied by that organisation, such as if they have left.

Office 2002 is well out of date & it would be unlikely any organisation would still be using it, so obviously your VLK version has come up as blocked. You will not be able to clear this unless you uninstall Office 2002. Until then, you will continue to get that message & Windows will fail to activate.

That is not quite accurate for the student office version, you can keep using it even after you left school. Same as a business selling you or giving you a computer that has Microsoft office business 2000. They don't need to remove office. However, a later student version does require you to remove it or upgrade at a discount. Anyways, the newest Microsoft office requires you to have internet access or you lose your activation.

A unlicensed or unactivated office shouldn't disable windows activation.

If that MS office suite remains a problem, consider going to either Libre Office or Apache's Open Office. I have both, however, almost everyone only needs one of those two. And, there are other free office suites as well.
