Method to enhance laptop battery life and increase discharge cycles.

I have changed two batteries since I purchased my Laptop. I bought it 15 months back.
So, I have been going through the things that make my laptop batteries' life short.
After Reading many articles about batteries, I have made some inferences:
1) Internal stress inside the battery will be at peak, when it is Fully charged. Actually keeping it plugged in for long time causes, temperature increase inside the battery and life is reduced.
2) Never bring the battery to discharge fully or below 30%.
3) Plug out the battery when gaming. Keep the battery exposed to lesser than 40 degree celcius.
4) Discharging the battery at higher rate reduce battery life.

SO, Here is what i am doing. I pull out battery while gaming. I never charge more than 85%.
Also need some suggestions from you to increase the battery life.

A possible cause is purchasing "cheap" batteries, which may or may not apply in your case; they can also be a source of extreme overheating which can cause damage to internal parts. The last part is just an FYI.

I don't see the point of never charging it more that 85%. Fully charging a battery is important as it equalizes all the cells & that last 15% that you are missing out on, is very important for getting the maximum running time between charges.

I agree about not leaving it on charging for long periods & not letting it get too discharged before recharging. Also don't leave it in a discharged condition for any length of time.

There are many methods floating around the net which some swear work for them, while others swear the opposite.

I see no problem with charging to 100% either.

The two main things are what you plan on doing - remove battery while gaming and don't leave it permanently plugged in.

The only thing I can think to add is that if you plan on leaving the battery out for extended periods of time ie several days, weeks or even months etc is to make sure the battery is only 50% charged.

But as mentioned cheaper quality batteries are always going to die quicker no matter what you do.

Its been two years I never changed my laptop battery. First I let the battery fully(100%)charge and then I use that all down to 12%(Reserved level).Well I don't know whether my method can keep the battery in good condition or not but thats how I use and I got no problem with it at all.

Iam using my acer laptop. It is working fine and I always keep my laptop' battery full. Never use its full battery. It has been 3 years since I bought it is working fine. I had some problems but when I contacted acer support, they solved my problems. As far as battery is concerned, Acer Laptops are best.
