MFT Mirror Issue with chkdsk /r

I'm trying to run chkdsk /r with an elevated command prompt on a 2gb WD2002FYPS using an external dock. There is no OS or valuable data on the drive.

The command will run thru step 5 but errors out when correcting errors in the Master File Table (MFT) mirror stating there is insufficient disk space to repair the master file table mirror.

So far I've tried disk wiping and reformatting with Easus partition wizard with no luck. After googling Ive also tried disk wiping the entire drive with Ccleaner set to also wipe MFT free space then reformatting, and also wiped with Killdisk and reformatted at the command level. Still the same error.

So basically I need to either be able to fully wipe out this disk including the MFT and it's mirror, reformat and get a new MFT. Or I need to be able to resize the mirror, or get into it and delete some files out of it.

Has anyone seen behavior like this before?
