Hey there, I have windows 7 and use ventrilo alot..And When i talk it picks up my fan in the room and they cant hear me. I tried everything from disabling stereo mix to using just the drivers that came with 7. I had the VIA hd drivers that came with my motherboard but no dice on disabling it. My mic is a Gamecon 377. When I was on Windows xp it worked perfect no background noises were picked up at all. If anyone knows what I need to click or what I need to do please help me thank you :)

u need a unidirectional mic, as opposed to omnidirectional. Noise canceling is nice, too.
