I just got a new computer and when I log onto Ventrilo, people can't hear me talk, but I can hear them talk. I first thought it was ventrilo but when I went to the sound options in the control panel I noticed there were no green bars near the microphone. I'm currently running on Windows 7 64 bit, Asus M4A87TD EVO Motherboard, with an Asus Xonar DG Audio Device. I've downloaded all the drivers for the Xonar DG sound card (because thats what my headset is hooked up to), but the onboard audio for the motherboard is not up to date. The versions of the drivers are 7.12.0.7701 for the AMD High Definition Audio Device, and 7.12.8.1794 for Xonar Dg card. If anyone knows the problem or if they can direct me towards a link for better drivers it would be much appreciated.

Waiting for your replies, Thanks!

FIXEDDD finally 12 hours of work.. I went to my sound card center... Start>All programs>Asus Xonar Dg Audio>Asus Xonar DG Audio Center. Then in the center I first went to the "Main" tab, and changed Analog out from 2 speakers to Headphones. Then I went to the "Mixer" tab then I clicked the little microphone looking thing next to the slide labeled "Mic". Inside that microphone tab, I changed "Front Microphone" to "Microphone". Hope this helps people, this will help for people with the same sound card, or if anyone has an audio center.

Apologies for reviving an old thread...

But I just wanted to say thank you. I had been thinking my microphone was broken, but was apparently my sound card was at the same wrong settings.

Thanks again.

Still having that problem with low mic sound and i have no boost option in the windows sound menu for my mic... i have the check box saying add microphone booster but not the actual slider.
Any help on how to get the slider to appear is welcomed. And no its not my headset as that has been used with booster before. Drivers reinstalled multiple times. also totally removed and reinstalled.
