Microphone doesn't work properly

The microphone is detected, already enabled, but no sound detected.
The microphone doesn't have a problem, because it works on other computer which are using XP.

I've done troubleshooting, but it couldn't find what the problem is.
Please help..

Please post the exact HP model number.

Do you have the correct sound driver? If you only have the generic, basic function Windows installed High Definition Audio Codec, that is not the correct driver.

I'm using HP Pavilion g series..
I got the driver from the official site for my model.

Ya, my internal microphone works

Although it should not matter, I've seen problems of the internal mic causing external mics not to work. Disable the internal mic and see if that makes any difference.

Also, you should have the "Stereo Mix" set as the default recording device.
